Teen Depression: Services for Parents

The Mental Health Parent Coach provides a range of coaching programs and services to best meet parents' needs and budgets.

Individual and group coaching services are delivered by telephone, so distance is not a factor.

One-on-one Coaching Packages

Level 1: 90 minute one-time consultation.

  • Schedule as needed.
  • No ongoing commitment.

Level II : Biweekly 50-minute telephone sessions, email support and access to resources.

  • Ongoing relationship for parent support and accountability.

Level III: Three 50-minute telephone coaching sessions per month, email support, short check-in calls as needed, and access to resources.

  • Ongoing relationship for parent support, structure and accountability.
  • Benefits: coping strategies, better communication, problem-solving, relationship tips, self-care, work/life balance, support, accountability, hope, acceptance.
  • Recommend coaching for 3 months to ensure time to practice tools for change.

Group Coaching

Small groups meet regularly in person or by telephone for support, structure and accountability; best option for parents of teens with mood disorders who are:

  • Feeling isolated
  • Enjoy learning in a group environment
  • Looking for a more affordable option.

The Complete Parent as Mental Health Coach Approach

  • When traditional parenting approaches aren't working with your depressed teen, it's time to practice a coaching approach.
  • Learn tips each week to improve listening, set limits, build upon your teen's strengths, let go, and practice self-care.
  • 12-week teleclass. Meets weekly and includes 2 private coaching sessions, assessments, interactive exercises, and other resources.
