The Mental Health Parent Coach, Debra B. Taylor |
|
|
Debra B. Taylor is the founder of The Mental Health Parent Coach, providing life coaching, support and information to parents of teens dealing with depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and other mood disorders.
Debra is a wife and mother of two teenagers. With a family history of depression, she knows first hand the impact of mood disorders on parents
and family members.
She is passionate about building public awareness around family and teen depression, and advocating for mental illness to be treated the same as physical illness to reduce stigma. Her speaking engagements, workshops, writing, and coaching programs focus on giving parents tools and a roadmap through teen depression. |
Debra became a certified professional coactive coach (CPCC) after completing the rigorous certification program of the Coaches Training Institute and completed advanced training in relationship systems coaching. She became certified by the Center for Third Age Leadership to deliver coaching programs on change and midlife fulfillment.
Prior to starting her coaching practice Discover Your Light in 2002, Debra worked in health care management, planning and facilitation for nearly twenty years at hospitals in Boston and eastern Massachusetts . Debra earned a Masters degree in Health Administration (MHA) from Duke University and a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Bates College . Her affiliations include the International Coach Federation and the National Alliance on Mental Illness. She lives in the greater Boston area with her family.
